Integration
Migrate from Jira Cloud without freezing the backlog
Import a Jira Cloud project, then run both tools in two-way sync for 30 days while the team moves across at its own pace. When the window closes, Stride is the system of record and the sync stops.
How the 30 days work
- Connect and discover. Open Settings → Integrations → Jira and connect your Jira Cloud site. Stride lists the projects and boards your credentials can actually reach.
- Preview. See what an import would produce before anything is written.
- Import. Supported epics, stories, subtasks, sprints, and comments come across, with rich text converted rather than flattened.
- Work in both. For 30 days, supported changes flow both ways. Nobody has to stop working and there is no code freeze.
- Cut over. The window closes, the integration disables itself, and Stride is the record. Your Jira project is untouched.
What happens when both sides change the same issue
This is the failure mode that ruins migrations, so Stride handles it explicitly rather than letting last-write-win. When an issue has been edited locally since the last sync from Jira, the incoming change is skippedand recorded as a sync conflict for a human to resolve. Nobody’s edit disappears silently, and you get a reviewable list instead of a mystery.

Frequently asked questions
Is this an ongoing Jira sync?
No, and this is the most important thing to understand before you start. It is a migration tool with a deadline. The connection is two-way for 30 days from the day you create it, then the integration moves to a disabled state and stops syncing. Stride is designed to replace Jira, not to sit alongside it forever.
What happens on day 31?
The integration flips to a disabled state. Nothing is deleted and nothing breaks in Stride — your imported work simply stops exchanging updates with Jira, and Stride becomes the single system of record. Your Jira project is left exactly as it was.
What comes across in the import?
Supported epics, stories, subtasks, sprints, and comments. Descriptions and comments written in Atlassian Document Format are converted to Stride’s canonical rich-text format rather than being flattened to plain text, so formatting, lists, and links survive.
What happens if the same issue is edited in both tools?
Stride detects the drift rather than silently overwriting. The conflicting change is skipped and recorded as a sync conflict you can review, so a simultaneous edit during the migration never loses someone’s work quietly.
Do we have to freeze the backlog during the migration?
No — that is the entire point of the 30-day window. Teams keep working in Jira while others start in Stride, updates flow both ways, and you cut over when the team is ready instead of on a big-bang date.
Can I preview an import before committing to it?
Yes. Stride discovers the projects and boards your credentials can reach and shows you what an import would produce before anything is written.
