How we calibrated this

How to think about the inputs

  • Hours saved per week: Most teams underestimate this for the same reason they underestimate sprint capacity — the AI saves time on work that doesn't feel like "real engineering" (acceptance criteria authoring, sprint planning, release notes, retro prep). 5 hours/week is the conservative default; teams that adopt all four modules see 8-12.
  • Fully-loaded hourly cost: Salary ÷ 2080 doesn't capture the real number. Add benefits (typically 25-35% of base) + overhead (real estate, tooling, ops support — another 15-25%). US mid-market average is $100-$150/hr fully loaded for senior engineers.
  • Monthly cost per seat: $29 is Stride Pro's published price. For Enterprise deployments with SCIM + SSO + dedicated success engineer, negotiated rates typically land $50-$80/seat — still well within the positive-ROI envelope for most team sizes.
